Moving out checklist

For printing out and ticking off. Anyone who starts „three months before“ will have nothing left to do on handover day except hand over the keys. The explanations for the individual points are on the page Extract.

Three months beforehand

Notice of termination written, signed by all tenants named in the contract and sent off — it must reach us by no later than the third working day of the month
received confirmation of receipt and your exact contract end date from us
New flat secured and handover dates coordinated
Internet and telephone contract cancelled or moved — the notice periods are often longer than the rental period

Four weeks beforehand

Handover date agreed with us
Retrieved the move-in inspection report
Discussed with us what actually needs to be renovated — before commissioning tradespeople
Bulky waste booked or trip to the recycling centre or the Wehr district landfill planned
Set up a mail forwarding service with the Post Office
Removals helpers, van and parking suspension organised where necessary

Last week

Basement, loft, parking space and garage cleared out
Any fixtures installed by the customer shall be removed, unless otherwise agreed
Plugs removed, drill holes filled locally and structurally bonded, agreed painting work completed
Flat fully cleared and thoroughly cleaned — at least in the condition it was handed over in
Emptied letterbox, removed nameplates from doorbell and letterbox
Residual waste and bulky items disposed of — leave nothing in the house

On the day of handover

Got all the keys, including copies: front door, flat, cellar, letterbox, garage
Meter readings for electricity, water and heat taken together
Handover protocol gone through and signed, took a copy with me
Update new address and bank details for billing

Afterwards

Registered at your new address — deadline: two weeks
Broadcasting fee updated
Deposit: We will get in touch as soon as the final bill has been prepared. A maximum of three monthly utility advance payments will be withheld until the utility bill is settled. There is no need for you to enquire.

Um Electricity you don't need to worry about that: we will take care of switching and registering your utility provider.

2 Property viewing We invite you to an appointment. You can take your time looking at the flat and the building, and ask any questions.
3 tenant's self-disclosure form If you would like to rent the apartment, please fill out the form and send it along with the documents to mail@swifina.com. tenant's self-disclosure form
4 Tenancy agreement If both sides decide on each other, we will draw up the tenancy agreement and coordinate the handover date with you.

The flat has found new occupants. We warmly welcome our new tenants and wish them a great start in their new home.

We would like to thank all applicants for their trust. We sincerely apologise that, given the overwhelming response, we were not able to reply to every message — for a number of enquiries, the flat was let faster than we could respond. Perhaps it will work out next time.
