Waste and recyclables

For our properties in Bad Säckingen and Murg, the Waldshut district waste management organisation responsible. She determines the wheelie bins, the collection dates and the charges; we only provide the pitches.

Collection dates

The dates for your district are in the District waste calendar. It is available in print, online and as an app with a reminder function — and setting a reminder is worthwhile because paper and the recycling sack are not collected weekly: abfall-landkreis-waldshut.de

What goes in which bin

• General waste — everything that does not fit into any other bin: hygiene products, vacuum cleaner bags, ash, sweepings, porcelain, soiled packaging.
• food waste bin - Food leftovers (including cooked ones), fruit and vegetable waste, coffee grounds with filter, eggshells, garden waste in small quantities. Wrapping in newspaper keeps the bin clean; none Plastic bags, not even those sold as compostable.
• waste paper — Newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes, paper packaging. Flatten cardboard boxes, otherwise the bin will be full after two packages.
• yellow recycling bag — Sales packaging made of plastic, metal and composite materials: films, tubs, cans, cartons. Spoon-clean is sufficient, rinsing is not necessary. Separate the lid from the tub.
• Glass — separated by colour into the bottle banks in the village, not in the wheelie bin. Remove lids and corks beforehand. Drinking glasses, window glass and mirrors do not belong there, but in the general waste or at the recycling centre.

Bulky waste, electrical items and hazardous waste

Furniture, mattresses, electrical appliances, paints, varnishes, batteries and waste oil do not belong in the household waste bins. The district accepts them at the recycling centres and about the hazardous waste collection; bulky waste is collected upon request. Everything via the same page of the district authority.

All waste generated by not accepted at the Bad Säckingen and Murg recycling centres become, are for Wehr district landfill, Lachengraben 1, 79739 Wehr. Absolutely everything can be disposed of there.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries Never in the general waste — they are the most common cause of fires in garbage trucks. Take-back in any shop that sells batteries.

In the house

• Every tenant is responsible for their own bins and puts them out on the street herself — there is no one else for that.
• You can find the bin locations and how to handle them in the Property profile.
• Put bins back after emptying — a bin on the pavement is an obstruction and a reliable way to annoy the neighbours.
• Do not place cardboard boxes and bulky items next to the bin. Anything that does not fit in the container will not be collected and will be left behind.
• The basement and the stairwell are not temporary storage areas. Whatever is kept there blocks the escape route in an emergency.

Why that is not just tidiness

Everyone pays their own waste disposal fees. It is therefore in everyone's own interest that the bins are filled correctly. Otherwise, they will simply be left unemptied. Sorting through them afterwards is not only unpleasant, but also involves extra effort.
